VISIT FROM SULLY-SUR-LOIRE TO BRADFORD ON AVON, MAY 2013
In May 2013 we welcomed a group of over 50 people from Sully-sur-Loire including, for the first time, a group of young dancers from Sully.
Our first full day was to have been at Stourhead but because of high winds the house and gardens were closed so after lunch at Stourhead we moved on to an interesting tour of Great Chalfield Manor.
The next day the town was buzzing as the visitors explored and enjoyed Bradford on Avon – with the help of an historical tour of the town, a photo quiz and a shop window competition. In the evening we all met for a special meal and speeches at Southwick Village Hall where we were entertained by the excellent dancers (Amitié et Danse) from Sully.
On the final day many guests chose to visit Bath and the young dancers did an extra performance at the YMCA and that evening everyone enjoyed going to the Wiltshire Music Centre to hear a trio of Scottish and Norwegian musicians.
Many thanks to everyone who helped to make this visit a success.
