2023 Bradford visit to Sully ITINERARY We have booked our usual “Executive” luxury coach from Chandlers of Westbury, with toilet hot water and a large hold. It is a 53-seater. The driver stays with us in Sully-sur-Loire. Suitcases will not be accessible en route, so please bring day bags for all your travel needs. Departure: Saturday 27th May. Pick-up point: Bradford on Avon Station Car Park. By 05:15: Please arrive at least 45 minutes ahead of time if you have bicycles, tandems, musical instruments or any other special items. Tandems may need to have parts removed. By 05:40: Please arrive at least 20 minutes ahead of time if you have suitcases only. 6:00 am sharp: Coach leaves Bradford on Avon. Short Motorway services comfort stop en route to Dover. 09:40: DFDS ferry service check-in. 10:40: Ferry sailing, 2 hours on board. 13:40 (French local time): Arrive Calais. Motorway services comfort stop and driver’s rest stop en route to Sully. 19:15 at the earliest: Arrive at Château, Sully-sur-Loire. Greeted by our hosts, unload coach. 19:30 at the earliest: Hosts take us home. Hosts provide evening meals and breakfasts. Sunday 28th May: Cycling or resting and other activities with the host families. Evening: Shared meal with everyone (catering and cakes by Sully committee members). Monday 29th May: visit to Château Fontainebleau and Barbizon (pre-impressionist painters’ village). Tuesday 30th May: visit to Châteauneuf-sur-Loire (20km)... Morning: boat tour on the Loire. Midday: Restaurant meal, compliments of our hosts. Return to Sully. 15:00 to 17:00: See the interior of Château de Sully. Wednesday 31st May: visit the City of Orléans... 10:00 to 12:30: Guided tour of the City. Afternoon: Free time in Orléans for souvenir shopping, etc. On several days there is likely to be a “more active” option with bike rides or long walks. Hosts will provide packed lunches, picnics or meals-out for all Bradford visitors. Return: Thursday 1st June. Pick-up point: Château de Sully. Unload all baggage, bicycles etc. It is considerate not to seek drop-offs elsewhere. It is customary to collect for a driver’s tip. |
